Water is the most important thing for human life.
Anytime, anywhere, or whatever you do, you should always pay attention to securing water.
So, we compared portable water purifiers suitable for bikepacking.
There are probably many products on the market, but we compared only three that have slightly different sizes and capacities.
A comparison of the data from the resources of each product is as follows.
Personally, I have 1 and 3 of the 3 products and have tried them.
In bike packing where weight and size are important, the smallest and lightest is usually chosen. However, the weight of 50~100g is not a great weight to feel, so considering the convenience, 2 or 3 are good choices.
Life Water Filter is a method of purifying water by gravity by either immersing it in the water before water purification and sucking it directly, or putting the water before water purification in a water bag and attaching the water purifier to the water bag. You need a separate water bottle to receive purified water, but you can use a bicycle water bottle.
TrailShot is a method of pumping water by hand rubbing. It has the advantage of not requiring a water bag.
HyperFlow is hand-pumped. It can be used as a water purifier for small groups.
For all three, the product description does not indicate whether the water purification cartridge can be replaced. However, it is instructed to wash by flowing water in the opposite direction to the water purification direction.
Water purifiers tend to get wet when used, but it is important to keep them dry to prevent mold from forming after use.
